Dr. Brandon Mastromartino is the Principal and Founder of Experiential Insights and an Assistant Professor of Experiential Marketing at San Diego State University. He completed a M.S. and Ph.D. in Sport Management at the University of Georgia and a B.A. in Media & Communications from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Mastromartino’s research focuses on the psychology of sports fans and developing consumer insights that can inform marketing strategy for sport organizations and corporate partners. In his studies, he has adopted theories based in behavioral sciences, social economics, digital marketing, and consumer psychology. He has published over 30 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters in sport marketing related outlets such as Sport Marketing Quarterly and the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship. He is an active member of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and the Sport Marketing Association (SMA). Dr. Mastromartino serves as an editorial board member of several academic publications such as Case Studies in Sport Management, the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, and the Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports.

Outside of academia, Dr. Mastromartino works with organizations the experiences industries, working with various sport, event, and entertainment organizations and corporate clients in marketing analysis, sponsorship strategy and sponsorship ROI measurement. He has worked with organizations such as the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Football Club, Major League Baseball, National Lacrosse League, and the University of Georgia Athletics.

At SDSU, Dr. Mastromartino teaches classes focused on leadership and marketing in the experiences industries and works with students who want to build careers in the sport, recreation, tourism, and/or hospitality industries. Previous to SDSU, Dr. Mastromartino taught at the University of Georgia, Southern Methodist University, and the University of North Texas. Dr. Mastromartino lives in San Diego, California.
